If you have watched ‘A Good Year’ or read ‘A year in Provence’ then you will know what I mean when I say that Chateau les Mesclances is a picture postcard of what you would expect from Provence.
Arnaud and Elisabeth de Villeneuve Bargemon owner and family winemaker produce as an entry level Rose (IGP) what I consider to be a classic rustic provencal style rose. The vines are located on a hot plateau, situated behind La Colline de Maures; which gives the wine less complexity than those grown closer to the sea but instead brings so much more wine and fruit.
Beautiful, well balanced with raspberry and strawberry notes which is great to have on the go when there is a family BBQ.
